The Top 11 Recommended Bronco Mods

TOP 11 BRONCO MODS THAT WE WOULD RECOMMEND

Where are all the Bronco upgrades?

After much anticipation, Ford finally introduced its new Bronco model in 2021, taking inspiration from the original 1966 Bronco.

Showing off decked-out models before the official launch, the 2021 Bronco debuted with a full line of dealer accessories. The Ford “Sasquatch” package includes 35″ tires, a Hoss 2.0 suspension system, Bilstein position sensitive dampers, and fender flares. The beefed up “Raptor” edition comes with 37″ Tires and Fox Live Valve 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers.

Both dealer packages dramatically increase the MSRP so, we asked ourselves, “is it possible to build a Bronco to compete with these packages?”. Thanks to the long delivery lead times for the new Bronco, many aftermarket companies were prepared with a full line of accessories as soon as they hit the market in 2021.

Here are our top eleven picks for modifications to your 21+ Bronco:

1. OFF-ROAD WHEELS

Changing the wheels on the new Ford Bronco is one of the most dramatic and easy changes you can make. The style and type of wheel have everything to do with the purpose of the vehicle.

Wheels for Ford Bronco

It’s common to see Method Race Wheels on the best Trophy Trucks, and you can get them for your Bronco too! The Method Race Wheels 106 beadlock wheels are perfect for those rock crawling, desert pre-running adventures but they look great anywhere your off-road vehicle can go.

We recommend Method Race Wheels – 106 Beadlocks Bronze 17×9.

2. BRONCO Tires

Ranging from 37″ to 40″ we’ve seen a variety of tire sizes in Bronco builds, but how do you make the best choice? Ultimately, it depends on the look you’re trying to achieve and how you intend to use your Bronco.

Find the best tires for Broncos

Some people only want to change the look of the Bronco without altering its driving characteristics. Others may want a vehicle that can handle more extreme terrain by adding more meat on the corners. You can’t go wrong with off-road tires from Nitto for an overland trip. The aggressive tread design supplies a smooth ride regardless of the terrain.

Comfort is guaranteed with the 35X12.50R17LT 125R Nitto Recon Grappler Tire.

3. Off-Road Seats and Seat Covers

Let’s start by saying that the stock seats are BORING! Why not customize the stock seats to fit your style? PRP’s Front Seat Covers for the 21+ Ford Bronco bring a fresh personalized look to your interior.

These covers have been expertly crafted to fit perfectly over your factory front seats, and provide an OEM fit and finish. Grab a friend, grab a beer and make a Saturday afternoon out of it and install them yourself. Made from durable marine-grade vinyl, our top-quality Bronco covers can handle the abuse in on and off-road environments. These customizable covers are installed over your stock upholstery and are side-impact airbag compatible.

4. FLOOR MATS

A floor mat is a simple addition that will extend the life of your interior, so it’s a no brainer investment. Durable Weathertech Bronco mats make clean up a breeze after a long day of climbing in and out of your vehicle on muddy trails.

Best floor mats for Broncos

Weathertech’s Laser Measured FloorLiners are floor mats with specific vehicle fitment that completely line the floor of your car’s interior.

5. Off-Road LIGHTING

Night cruises are a favorite off-road adventure outing, but when you’re out in the boonies – stock lighting just won’t do. An aftermarket off-road light mount will help you see in low-visibility situations, plus, there’s nothing that says “I am off-road ready” like a lightbar!

Baja Designs is the #1 choice in off-road lighting options. Find the light in even the darkest adventures with their range of light bars and light pods.

6. Bronco Lift Kits

The first question to consider when choosing a lift kit is how much money are you willing to spend?

the best lift kit for Bronco

There are a few budget-friendly options available, but the cost of a full Coilover system can quickly add up so it’s often best to decide what you want to achieve before you get started. Whether you’re a casual driver or primarily an off-roader, let’s look at some Bronco lift kit options:

Strut Spacers and leveling kits

Strut Spacers and leveling kits add a little space between your existing shocks and the body of your Bronco. These simply create space allowing you to fit larger wheels and tires. We do not recommend aggressive off-roading with this lift method.

Super lift offers a 2″ strut spacer lift for under $200. In addition, they offer a 3.5-inch kit that includes all the necessary strut spacers and tubular upper control arms priced at about $600 – $800.

Turnkey Lift Kits

A turnkey lift kit includes everything that you’ll need to lift your Bronco in one package. This will improve the dampers and suspension for better off-road performance, while also including upper control arms, shocks, and everything else you’ll need.

Bronco Full Turnkey Lift Kit

If you’re looking for high-performance options, you’ll want to check out the Fabtech Dirt Logic 2.5 Resi kit. Dirt Logic’s remote reservoir shocks have a higher fluid volume and better damping over time which extends the life of your shocks and prevents burnout during long sessions.

Fabtech’s high-angle 1″ uniball joint is also included on the tubular upper control arm. In addition, their tubular trailing arms make it easy to adjust for the 3 inches of lift while keeping the rear axle exactly where you want it. Pricing on this kit ranges between $4,600 – $5,400.

7. Winches for Broncos

In most cases, a winch is used in order to get your 4X4 out of a stuck situation. Should your Bronco get stuck in mud or fail to handle a big rock, attaching the winch cable to something secure, like a stout tree, allows the winch to pull it out.

off-road winches for Ford Bronco

As the Bronco has auxiliary switches for accessories, you can use an electric winch, or you can use hydraulic winches that are driven by the power steering pump.

Warn is one of the most popular winch brands on the market.

8. Off-Road Bumpers

A replacement bumper is one of the best options for your Bronco. If you plan to run large off-road tires, swapping out the bumper is a great way to create clearance. Additionally, aftermarket bumpers provide a variety of mounting options for lights and winches, most with spots for light bars and light pods. Aside from looking badass, they are also functional.

Bronco bumpers from ADD are designed with precision and attention to detail.

They feature a variety of different style cues, top-tier lighting selections, and comprehensive vehicle recovery options.

9. ROOFTOP TENT

Bronco’s versatility is one of its most appealing features. If Overlanding is your off-road style, you’ll want a rooftop tent. A rooftop tent takes your Overlanding adventure to the next level and who doesn’t love a night on the roof underneath the stars

off-road rooftop tent for Bronco

The Yakima Rooftop Tent for 2021 Ford Broncos is a complete RTT solution that comfortably sleeps up to two people and can deploy in a matter of minutes from the roof of your Bronco.

10. Exhaust System

Adding an exhaust is the best way to wake up your neighbors and meet new people named Karen! You can choose from a variety of exhausts to satisfy your needs, whether you want something loud or a little milder with a nice deep drone.

find the best exhaust system for Bronco

For those planning to take their Bronco off-road, we recommend the high-clearance Borla Climber Cat-Backs, available in Touring, S-Type, and ATAK sound levels.

11. Kinetic Recovery Ropes

Getting stuck is just sometimes part of the journey and any serious enthusiast knows that you shouldn’t be off-roading without a recovery strap kit. SpeedStrap Kinetic Recovery Ropes are the next great thing in recovery tow straps and can help any vehicle get out of a sticky situation.

These kinetic recovery ropes are designed so that you can get a running start with the recovery vehicle, while the rope stretches and builds up kinetic energy. Once the rope reaches it maximum stretch, it snatches back and releases that energy to pull the stuck vehicle out of the mud, sand, or snow.

3. Use A Soft-Topper

There’s nothing better than warm weather days with the top and doors off, but when it’s 100 degrees out and the sun is beating down, you’ll want some shade while the breeze blows through your hair.

The Safari Top from Bestop is a great hybrid between fully enclosed and having the top off to enjoy the sunshine. If you are looking to enclose your Jeep with a retractable soft-top, the Super Top Ultra reigns supreme in functionality. Retract when you want some sun and cover up when the elements become too much.

4. Let’s Talk Tires!

Choosing a tire specific to the conditions you’ll be driving in is a critical step in optimizing performance. Before choosing which tires are ideal for your Jeep, it’s important to consider how you’ll be using it.

Jeep Tires

Mudding enthusiasts or those living at high altitudes with freezing temps might find mud and snow tires to be their best bet. For weekend warriors or the daily driver, A/T tires are appropriate and economical.

When it comes to rock crawlers, M/Ts and A/T tires are the typical choice but if you like to get down and dirty and stuck in the mud, a swamper tire might be more suitable.

BF Goodrich has high-quality tires that are among the best. Their K02s are a very popular choice for Jeep owners.

Tires for Jeep Wranglers

5. Upgrading Wheels

No matter how good your tires are if they slide off the rim due to side-to-side movement and low pressure, you’re going to find yourself in a bad situation. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere with flat tires and no means of fixing them is not fun or safe. Bead lock rims prevent this from happening by mechanically locking the rubber to the rim so that low-pressure sidewall sag won’t drop the bead and leave you stranded. As a bonus, their aggressive look is a major aesthetic upgrade!

Jeep wrangler wheels

Dirty Life Wheels is our choice for top quality Bead lock options for Jeeps and stand out from the rest.

6. Lift Kits

There is no doubt about it, clearance is crucial to off-roading. Drive over larger objects without getting stuck by adding a lift to your Jeep.

Best lift kits for Jeep Wranglers

What kind of lift you choose depends on your driving style. For desert-running at 60 miles an hour, a coil-over system is ideal. A basic spring lift will be sufficient if you are slowly driving through deep water or boulders. Keep in mind, you may need to adjust your lift size based on the type and size of tires you choose.

With Superlift, you can achieve this without breaking your budget. Starting at $975, they offer amazing lift kits that will completely transform your Jeep’s appearance and off-road performance.

7. Rock Sliders

A rocker is an excellent piece of armor for your Jeep that offers protection from road debris and rocks and doubles as a step and a winch recovery point if your Jeep flips or rolls on its side.

Jeep rock sliders

Atlas XRC Rock Sliders from Smittybilt look awesome and are built to last.

8. Bumpers

Jeeps are awesome vehicles, but a common complaint is their stock OEM bumpers. Several steel aftermarket bumpers are available to choose from with a wide range of styles and designs. Pro tip: choose one with a built-in winch mount.

Motobilt products are designed to protect and look amazing. Take your ride from stock to stacked with a huge part selection fitting most Jeep models.

9. Vehicle Winches

find best winches for Jeep Wrangler

Stuck in a tight spot and can’t get your vehicle out? When it comes to wheeling in the toughest conditions, there’s no substitute for an aftermarket winch. A winch is often the only choice, so you’ll want to make sure that someone has one when out exploring with your crew.

find a winch for Jeep Wrangler

There are several moderately priced winch options with good functionality, including the Warn M8000.

10. Recovery Straps

Jeep recovery strap

Getting stuck off-road is inevitable, fortunately getting unstuck is all part of the fun! A winch will usually get you out of a muddy situation, but certain situations require a different recovery approach. When you can’t winch to anything, a recovery strap is the right choice over a tow strap. The difference between the two is that a tow strap does not stretch like a recovery strap.

SpeedStrap recovery ropes

When it comes to recovery straps, Speedstrap makes the best recovery straps on the market.

With these upgrades, your Jeep will be ready to take on any terrain!

Forget Stock Harnesses: 3 Reasons to Consider Upgrading

WHY STOCK HARNESSES AREN’T ALWAYS THE BEST OPTION

When you first buy your UTV, you’re going to have a lot of fun decisions to make like where you’re going to take your first ride or who you’re going to take with you.

But before getting to the fun bits, taking a minute to hammer out any considerations for safety equipment can easily be one of the smartest decisions that you’ll ever make.

You might be thinking to yourself at this point, “but my UTV came with seat belts and they look just fine”. Well, let’s take a minute to discuss a few things that you might not have thought about:

4 Point Harnesses

4.2 Harness

$110.99

This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product page

1. Stock retractable seat belts

While “okay” for most leisurely riding, in the case of an unforeseen accident, retractable stock seat belts may not be sufficient to keep you strapped down safely during a rollover or fire.

Do you know what’s scarier?

The OEM seatbelts typically feature retractable/clutch mechanisms, so there can be no way to predict when you actually will be held tight by them until a moment of impact.

2. Considering your comfort

It’s an uncomfortable fact that you find out in the worst way – constant irritation during a ride using standard 3-point, shoulder-type seatbelts on your off-road vehicle may cause shoulder burns. This can lead to severe discomfort and irritation when riding.

PRP harnesses are designed to resolve these issues. Among the things that set us apart from the rest are the soft shoulder pads that come standard with every PRP harness. No need to worry about shoulder burns or fatigue with us!

When upgrading to a harness, keep in mind that many UTV models today have a seatbelt interlock system that puts the vehicle into “limp” mode if the belt is not worn. Your vehicle will need a seatbelt override since the new harness won’t engage the old seatbelts. Luckily, our 4.2 harness with speed limiter connection fixes all these issues (only needed for drivers seat) – no overrides or bypasses are needed.

3. Long-term fatigue

In the very best of circumstances, a rider who is not held correctly will simply experience a lot of body movement and become fatigued more than one using an aftermarket harness.

By switching from OEM seatbelts to PRP harnesses, you will be more secure, comfortable, and able to maneuver more efficiently. Whether you are looking for a full racing harness or a recreational harness, we have what you need for all your off-road adventures!

Want more information on harnesses?

Why Should You Change Your Stock Seats?

My stock seats work fine, so why would I switch to aftermarket seats?

Most RZR, Can-Am, and other UTV owners complain about narrow seats, low bolsters, and hard angles. Because their seat is rigid, it absorbs almost no impact from the harsh terrain.

An essential feature of side-by-side seats is their ability to adjust to different body types while protecting the rider. The added comfort of a suspension seat while keeping your body protected will allow you to enjoy your UTV for longer and stay safe!

What are the benefits of switching to a Suspension Seat?

The term “suspension seat” comes from the liner suspended between the steel frame. The liner gives as the occupant moves, preventing constant contact with a solid surface, such as those in stock seats. The suspension liner is vinyl-coated nylon and dual-density foam, which reduces the impact on the body.

In fact, there has been multiple tests done to gauge the effectiveness of suspension seats in a variety of scenarios. In one notable test done by NATO, they measured the effect of a roughly 350 g impact to replicate the slam down of a vehicle. The results were an incredible 84% reduction in energy transferred to the spine of the dummy using a suspension seat.

In another study measuring high speed boat transits, suspension seats were being tested alongside standard, fixed seats for rigid inflatable boats (RIB). In this scenario, completed by testing two pairs of teams through 3 hour transits, they observed transit heart rate and seat pan acceleration for evidence of pain and fatigue caused by the trip. The results – suspension seats effectively maintained post transit running performance by reducing the magnitude of vertical shocks imposed on the passengers, showing that suspension seats were more than twice as effective than the fixed back seats.

Comparing these studies to a real-world application, such as off-roading regularly, it’s easy to see the long-term potential benefits of using an aftermarket suspension seat.

Different Seats For Different Riders

HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT SEAT FOR YOUR NEEDS?

Here at PRP Seats we understand that comfort and functionality are a necessity when selecting the perfect seat for your off-road vehicle of choice. We offer an industry leading fifteen suspension seat options to choose from. We’ve assembled this guide to help you narrow those selections down.

We will address the frequent questions we get about our seats:

  • What are the most comfortable options?
  • If I’m looking for containment, what seat should I get?
  • What seats should I be looking at if I am racing?
  • Should I go extra-wide or extra-tall?
  • Best seat for my little riders?

LOOKING FOR COMFORT?

For maximum comfort in your off-road vehicle, two things come into play when selecting your perfect PRP Seat.

Lower Side Bolsters

There are three seats that fit this requirement for a seat being comfortable. PRP Seats already come paired with dual density foam. You can read how our seats are made HERE. If you’re shopping for a UTV, the RST, XCR, and XC are the three best choices to go with that offer lower side bolsters.

Why does that matter?

The seat has open bolsters at the hips and sides that allow for an easier experience getting in and out of your UTV. These seats still have some containment that is perfect for recreational spirited driving that will prevent you from sliding around when the ride gets rough.

LOOKING FOR CONTAINMENT?

If you’re looking for containment in your off-road vehicle when shopping for that perfect seat, one thing comes into play. Just because you ask for containment, you will not be sacrificing any comfort due to the dual density foam we use and cushions.

High Side Bolsters

If you’re looking for a UTV, you can roll with the GT3, GT/S.E, or High Back suspension seat. These three seats offer the highest bolsters with a snug fit at the hips and sides. These seats are great for those that want to feel secure while riding around and/or those that do some aggressive driving while out on the trails.

Are you an aggressive crawler or pre-runner owner! We’ve got options that offer the needed high containment. The Comp Pro, Comp Elite, and Podium Elite are the industry leading options to select that will handle any terrain you throw at it.

If you’re racing there is only one choice to go with and that is a full composite fiberglass racing seat. The seats offer the MAXIMUM containment level with an unreal level of feel of your vehicle while the seat keeps you planted in the seat. The first ever seat built for off-road racing is the Alpha Series. The Alpha series comes in extra-wide and a head-containment choice that has been extremely popular since its formal launch in 2016.

In 2020 we elevated the game with the introduction of our FIA-Certified seat line. Although FIA certification is not required for off-road racing we felt that it was a needed offering for our avid racing supporters that require the absolute BEST. The seats in the FIA line-up are the Echo, Tango, and Bravo.

STANDARD OR XW? TALLER OR STANDARD?

Looking into the idea of making any of your suspension seats extra wide? When you own a SXS you have one choice: an added one inch extra wide. An extra inch doesn’t sound like much when you say it aloud, but you will notice the difference when it comes to seats! XW option is available only on certain UTV models based on their interiors.

If you’re looking into an off-road suspension seat, most seats have capabilities to be stretched to two inches extra wide. It is worth noting however that in doing so, the seat may not fit in your vehicle. We always recommend double checking measurements in your interior to ensure proper fitment before ordering.

NEED SEATS TALLER?

We can make our off-road seats 2” taller or 4” taller per request on our website. The best way to measure this is to take the measurement of your back to your shoulders. Take this measurement and compare it to the seat measurements on the seat product page you’re referencing. If you realize your torso is taller than the measurements of the seat, we recommend going taller!

SMALLER RIDERS

You love taking the family out on your off-road experiences too? Is is worth considering getting them their own seat that allows them to be safe alongside you. Before we get too ahead here, we no longer manufacture the “toddler jump seats” for our seats.

If you’re looking to get your little one a seat in your off-road build, check out the Premier Lite. The Premier Lite is scaled down 2” in all directions in comparison to the standard Premier. This is ideal for those tight back seats where only a little one could get into!

Another excellent choice is the recently launched GT3 Mini. The GT3 Mini is intended for the new RZR 200, however it does come tabbed, and you can mount it in any off-road vehicle if you’ve got the space for your little one. Mounts for the RZR 200 are sold separately.

Why Choose Cam-Lock Harnesses?

Introducing the first cam-lock harness designed specifically for off-road use!

Cam-lock harnesses provide comfort and safety for your on and off-road rides. The cam-lock style buckle releases quickly and efficiently while keeping you secure. They can be much faster and easier to use than the traditional latch and link harnesses but have never been that popular in off-road because they could get jammed up with dust and dirt…. Until now!

PRP’s Cam-Lock Harnesses feature our exclusive CleanLatch Technology, with dust-resistant seals and rubberized tab ends to prevent dirt and dust from getting in. The rubberized ends are only on the shoulder straps with the 2″ model and all 5 connections with the 3″ model.

Other new features include our thick shoulder pads for comfort, which are now removable so you can easily clean them or use this harness with any head and neck restraint system. The EZ Adjusters on the shoulders and lap belts allow you to adjust your belts quickly, even if they are dirty or muddy. The bolt-in tabs on the shoulders and lap are easily removable, so you can swap in clip-in tabs if desired.

The harness features all-black hardware and a removable sternum strap.

Color Options For Your Next Harnesses

Are you ready to set your ride apart from the crowd? Our most popular harnesses are available in a variety of colors! No matter what your style is, we have you covered.

Available in up to nine colors to fit your ride and personal style.

STYLE AND SAFETY GO TOGETHER!

4.2 harnesses for UTV

4.2 HARNESSES

The 4.2 harness is our best-selling harness and is available in nine color options: Black, Blue, Pink, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Red, and Silver.

4.2 auto-latch harnesses feature an automotive style buckle instead of a traditional latch and link system (that some users find difficult to use).

Since the harness features an auto-latch and two-inch straps, it is an excellent configuration suitable for all ages.

4.3 harnesses for UTV

4.3 HARNESSES

Looking for a harness with wider straps?

We offer our 4.3 harnesses in seven color options that will help match your ride and customized PRP seats: Black, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Silver.

We use a latch and link system instead of an auto-latch on the 4.3 harnesses and three-inch straps on the shoulders and legs.

This belt is still easy to get out of though, since it does not have a 5-point belt between the legs.

5.3 Harnesses for UTV Off-Roading

5.3 HARNESSES

Don’t be boring while racing!

We offer six different colors for our 5.3 harnesses to stand out from the crowd while racing: Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Silver.

Safety and comfort are both ensured with these 5-point harness with 3-inch belts. Our 5-point harnesses have sewn-in shoulder pads that reduce chaffing on the neck and add to comfort, especially on long off-road rides. The EZ Adjusters make it simple to adjust the shoulder straps, even when they’re dirty or muddy.

In addition, the lap belt has a red latch guard and a removable sternum strap—the lap belt bolts in. Harness and crotch straps can be bolted to the roll bar or wrapped around it.

Our 5.3 harnesses are also SFI 16.1 certified for racing!

While safety should always be your #1 priority when it comes to choosing your harnesses, if you’re shopping with PRP Seats you’ll always be able to find a color and style that compliments your specific taste and vehicle.

What Are The Best Harnesses For Jeeps?

When you are worried about your safety, off-roading on the trail becomes a challenge. A PRP harness makes off-roading enjoyable and worry-free.

Do you own a Jeep and can’t decide which harness is right for you?

We have a harness to fit every type of driver.

Whether you drive daily, rock climb, or race, we have a product for you.

Take a look!

4.2 HARNESSES

If you are a weekend off-roader, our 4-point harnesses are the perfect fit.

4.2 auto-latch harnesses feature an automatic buckle instead of a traditional latch and link system that some users find difficult to use. The auto latch is a great Jeep harness for those that are getting in and out frequently due to the shoulder and lap belts being sewn together. Therefore, the harness is all one piece. Regardless of the terrain you are on, this allows you to buckle easily and quickly.

The 4.2 auto latch harness is the most popular off-road harness we offer here at PRP and comes in an industry leading 9 color options.

4.3 HARNESSES

Looking for something a little more traditional with large straps?

Our 4.3 harness features the latch and link belt system instead of the auto-latch and has 3″ straps for the shoulder and lap. Just like the 4.2 Auto Latch harness the shoulder and lap belts are sewn-together so the 4.3 harness is also one piece. This belt is still easy to get out of since it does not have a 5-point belt between the legs.

The 4.3 even comes in colors to help make the buying process easier to match your Jeep!

5.3 HARNESSES

You can take Jeep harnesses a step further with our 5.3 Off-Road Harness.

Using 3″ shoulder belts and 3″ lap belts for the ultimate containment in a harness, this belt is also SFI 16.1 certified which is required in most types of off-road racing. We assume that if you own a Jeep you will probably not be racing, but the 5.3 Off-Road harness is still the perfect jeep harness for trails.

Each piece is its own individual piece so, unlike the 4.2 Auto latch and the 4.3 harness, you must grab each piece of the 5.3 harness and connect them together with the latch and link system.

Whether you prefer a 4 point configuration or a 5 point harness configuration, we’ve got you covered.

Make sure you grab your next set of harnesses from PRP Seats!

How We Build Your Custom Suspension Seats

What is a Suspension Seat?

The term suspension seat comes from the inner liner suspended between the sides of the steel frame. As the occupant moves up and down, the liner gives, preventing the body from constantly hitting against a solid surface such as those found in stock UTV seats. This provides unparalleled comfort when riding, allowing for longer adventures and less soreness in the muscles and back.

It All Starts With You

At PRP Seats, you can choose from over 30 different models and MAKE IT YOURS with over 50+ fabric options to select from. Not to mention all of the upgrades available. No other manufacturer one offers more color or upgrade options than PRP.

The toughest part for most is the choice of materials. Traditionally used in boats, Marine-grade vinyl is developed to stand up to the elements. The fabric resists UV fading as well as mildew. Not a fan of vinyl? Afraid it will get hot? You can select from suede, cloth, Cordura®, or tweed options for no extra charge. This is just another way we’re revolutionizing the way suspension seats are made. We want you to truly be able to MAKE IT YOURS. You can view our fabric selection guide here.

Once the Seat is Ordered, We Build it From the Frame Up

Frames are hand-assembled in Southern California where we bend, notch, and weld the steel together to build your chosen suspension seats. Once the seat is assembled by our welding team, we then have the frame powder-coated black. The powder coating process will prevent any rust from breaking the seat down over time. We’ve had seats come back over twenty years later perfectly intact. Being an American-made company is something we take a lot of pride in by manufacturing a high-quality product.

Your Material Choices Get Cut!

This is the fun part when the design starts to come to life. While your frame is busy being welded, our cutting team is hard at work organizing your color choices into bulk cutting files which will be cut on one of our 3 automated machines. During the cutting process we begin the work on adding your custom embroidery choices to the seat. This can be the PRP branding and model logo or you can also submit your own personally owned logo which we will digitize and add to your seat for a fee. This is just another way you can truly MAKE IT YOURS with PRP.

Lacing the Suspension Liner

The core of your seat is the suspension liner. Think of it as a padded trampoline to support you on the rough rides. Liners are attached to the steel frame and secured with a 700lb parachute cord. Constructed of a durable and tear-resistant vinyl-coated nylon mesh, most dirt and debris will pass right through. Each liner is hand-sewn and custom-fitted to each seat frame.

Multi Density Foam

We pre-cut our foam specific for each seat to add just the right amount of padding to support you in the right places. Each seat has a built-in foam lumbar support to give you a comfortable driving position. All seats are extensively tested by various individuals with different body types to ensure the seat is comfortable for those long rides.

Hand-Sewn Cover

This stage is the most exciting as the seat begins to come to life! Each custom seat ordered from PRP is hand-sewn with options selected by YOU. With so many options available, special attention to detail is required so just one of our experienced sewing staff employees will build your entire order. This ensures each seat is made the same way and all the options are reviewed carefully.

Cover Meets Frame

The final stage in the custom seat process is the mounting of the cover to the frame. All those renderings you saved on your phone are now coming to life! PRP’s assembly team works carefully to make sure each cover is fitted perfectly to the foamed frame.

The Finishing Touch

After mounting we place each seat into an intense quality test by ensuring every seat is properly cleaned, matches what was ordered, and is in perfect condition. Any large wrinkles or errors during production are sent to be immediately fixed. Most seats fly right through and are ready to be shipped, delivered, and installed in your off-road vehicle.
